Dr. Knoppers (Phd) holds the Canada Research Chair in Law and Medicine (Tier 1: 2001 - ). She is Professor at the Faculté de droit, Université de Montréal and Senior Researcher at the Centre for Public Law. Dr. Knoppers is former Chair of the International Ethics Committee of the Human Genome Organization (1996-2004). She is Co-Founder of the International Institute of Research in Ethics and Biomedicine and Chair of the Ethics Working Party of the International Stem Cell Forum (U.K.). In 2003, she founded the international Public Population Project in Genomics (P3G) and became the Principal Investigator of CARTaGENE. CARTaGENE is a resource of samples and data on the genetic diversity of the population of Quebec.
